Koala reviews the workers' compensation premium employers are charged. We rebuild it from the published rate tables and file the errors we find. There is no upfront cost: we are paid a share of what an approved correction actually returns to you, and nothing at all if a review produces none.

Small team, so everything that comes in gets read by someone who can actually answer it. Two business days, usually.

If you have not read anything else here, the workers' compensation page walks a review stage by stage on a worked file.

Request a review

Tell us who you are and roughly what you spend on workers' comp. Send nothing sensitive yet. This form takes contact details and context, nothing else.

A rough band is fine. It tells us whether a review is worth your time.

No obligation, and no policy will be quoted at you.

What happens next

  1. A person reads it

Not an autoresponder. The reply comes by email, usually within two business days, from someone who can answer it.

  2. We say whether a review is worth doing

Sometimes the answer is no. An employer whose whole payroll sits in one class code has very few places for premium to go wrong, and we would rather say so than open a file.

  3. We list the documents we would need

Declaration pages, the payroll register behind them, loss runs, and your experience mod worksheet. A loss run is your carrier's list of claims and what each one cost. The experience mod is the multiplier your past claims set on the whole premium. Send the premium audit too if one has landed: that is the bill reconciling estimated payroll against the payroll you actually ran.

What to include

About a specific review
Your company's legal name, the carrier and policy period in question, and the email address on the account. That is enough to find your record quickly.
About a dispute filing
Add the audit or bureau reference number if you have one. The rating bureau is the body that publishes the rates and holds your loss history.
Please do not send
Additional payroll, tax, or loss records, unless we have asked for them. Anything you already uploaded is attached to your review.

A reminder

Koala is a premium audit review and consulting service. We are not an insurance carrier, a licensed agent or broker, a law firm, an accounting firm, or a public adjuster. We cannot give legal or tax advice. A correction we file is a request, not a decision: it is subject to carrier and rating bureau approval, and we cannot promise you a recovery. For advice about your specific legal, tax, or coverage position, consult your own attorney, CPA, or licensed agent or broker.
